The accident occurred on the A16 highway, between Moerdijk and Breda. Near Prinsenbeek, a delivery van and a passenger car collided around 7:30 PM. Due to this collision, another motorist was unable to avoid crashing into the car as well. The two occupants of the struck car, a 37-year-old woman and a 52-year-old man from Schiedam, were urgently transported to the hospital. The driver of the third car, a 78-year-old man from Terheijden, was also taken to the hospital by ambulance. The driver of the delivery van remained unharmed. Alcohol and drug tests indicated he may have used narcotics. The man was immediately arrested and taken to the police station. The highway was temporarily closed for investigation, causing some traffic disruption. The police are investigating the exact circumstances.
