The neighborhood officer of Floriande, together with officers specialized in traffic matters, conducted a short traffic check at Leenderbos in Hoofddorp. Within an hour, a moped and e-bike were seized because they did not meet the requirements.
The dynamometer was used to test the speed of e-bikes and mopeds. A distinctive police motorcycle also drove around to bring people to the checkpoint.
The fines were issued for:
- riding where it is not allowed
- 2x holding a phone while cycling
- riding without a license
- 2x riding an unapproved vehicle
- failure to show a license upon first request
Signal
Besides the results, the neighborhood officer also wants to send a signal: Behavior in traffic is the number one annoyance among neighborhood residents. Together with the Traffic Team and the municipality, we will focus more on traffic safety in Floriande in the coming period.
