Following reports of suspicious activities around the business on C. Commelinweg, the police launched an investigation into the premises. On Thursday, November 27, a drug lab with various liquids (synthetic drug lab) was discovered. Subsequently, the owner and tenant of the business were arrested: a 53-year-old man from Almere and a 72-year-old man from The Hague.
Prevent danger, report suspicions
To combat drug-related crime and prevent dangerous situations in the neighborhood, the help of local residents is essential. People who suspect a drug lab or drug storage location nearby are urged to report it. This can be done anonymously via the Crime Reporting Hotline at 0800-7000 or online at meldmisdaadanoniem.nl. How to recognize a drug location?
They can be anywhere; in rural areas or big cities, in farm sheds, houses, garages, or apartment buildings. Signs of a drug lab or processing site include a strong synthetic smell (anise-like or chemically irritating, sour or acetone-like). Unused doors and windows are often sealed, for example with foam sealant.
