Officers immediately went to the location and rang the doorbell of the house in question. When there was no response, they entered the house. No one was found inside. However, officers observed that shots had been fired inside the house. Additionally, they discovered a cannabis plantation with several hundred plants and related equipment.
The house has been designated as a crime scene. The police have cordoned off the area and secured evidence for further investigation.

Shortly after this report, officers who were at a hospital for another incident found a person with a gunshot wound. It later appeared that this person may be involved in the incident at Pastoor Smuldersstraat. The police are investigating the case.
