Overview of Previous Violence Incidents
The series began on Friday, May 9, at 03:55 AM. An explosion occurred at a portico on Berkelstraat. This explosion caused a fire on a residential floor. The front doors of the apartments were blown out of their frames by the explosion and ended up in the hall of the apartments. After the explosion, a person dressed entirely in black ran away towards Vlietlaan in Rotterdam.

An investigation was initiated, and surveillance footage was secured. The footage shows a notably small vehicle driving nearby just before the explosion. We are investigating whether the occupants of this vehicle are related to the explosion.

On May 12, the second incident occurred: at 04:00 AM, the same portico on Berkelstraat was shot at. After the shooting, a person dressed entirely in black ran away towards Vlietlaan in Rotterdam. This person was said to have had a long object resembling an automatic weapon with them. The shooting caused damage to the portico. Fortunately, no one was injured.

On May 15 at 19:20, another incident occurred: for the second time, an explosion at the same portico. After the explosion, a fire broke out. At the moment this explosion occurred, it was still daylight, and many children and parents were present at Berkelplein. A clear description of the suspect has been provided: an apparently young man with light to light-tinted skin, with (long) curly hair down to the neck and a slim to normal build.

The incident that followed took place on the morning of September 29. Around 06:00 AM, residents were startled by a loud bang. Fortunately, once again, no one was injured, but the portico was damaged. Officers arrested a 20-year-old Rotterdam resident in the area that same morning.
