The first suspect, a 17-year-old boy from Velsen, was arrested on October 7. His pre-trial detention was suspended as of October 16, so he can await the case in freedom. On December 1, the 19-year-old man was arrested. The court chamber decided that his pre-trial detention must be extended by 90 days as of December 17. On December 17, the other 17-year-old suspect was arrested. The examining magistrate extended his pre-trial detention by 14 days on December 19.
The assault
That morning around 6:15 a.m., a report was received that an injured man was found in the park. The victim had serious injuries. The man was possibly assaulted by multiple persons the evening before between 9:30 p.m. and 11:00 p.m. The police immediately started an investigation and have since arrested three suspects.
