Around 4:00 AM, there was a knock at the door of the house on Jan de Rooijstraat in Vlaardingen. The victim, a 32-year-old man from Rotterdam, opened the door. Two men were at the door who stabbed the victim and then fled. The victim was taken to the hospital and is responsive.

The police immediately started an investigation. Shortly after the incident, two men were arrested: a 34-year-old man without a fixed residence and a 26-year-old man from Vlaardingen. The stabbing weapon was later found and seized for further investigation in the vicinity of Professor Rutgersstraat and Professor Mekelstraat.
