At the moment when the officers crossed the bike path at Bredasestraat in Roosendaal on Thursday evening at 8:40 PM, they saw two people standing by a scooter. They decided to approach the two young men (16 and 17 years old). As they got out, an officer saw that one of them had a bottle in his hand that he was trying to inconspicuously throw under the police car. The officer checked what the object was and then found a bottle with flammable liquid under the police car. A Cobra-6 was taped to the bottle with duct tape.
Given the recent unrest and attacks in the neighborhoods of Kroeven and Langdonk, where heavy fireworks and homemade explosives are frequently used, the officers also decided to conduct a search in the suspects homes. During this, a bag was found next to the bed of one of them containing 21 heavy Cobras and 3 shells. Both suspects have been arrested and it is being investigated whether they are responsible for more violent crimes.
