When officers attempted to stop the car on Carillonstraat in De Pijp, the driver ignored the stop signal and fled. Shortly after, around 4:15 PM, the vehicle caused a collision with a cyclist at the intersection of Vrijheidslaan and Rijnstraat. The cyclist was injured and taken to the hospital.
The vehicle continued driving and was later found further on in the Rivierenbuurt, on Veluwelaan. The police are searching for the three individuals who exited the car there. Their descriptions are as follows:
- A young man with light skin tone wearing black clothing
- A young man with light skin tone wearing black pants and a gray hoodie
- A young man with light skin tone wearing dark clothing, not fully seen
- A young man with short hair and large dark curls
- A young man carrying a black crossbody bag, square-shaped with a long strap
- A young man carrying a large black bag by hand from the vehicle
- They were driving a white Volkswagen Polo
