At around 22:05, the police received a report of a stabbing incident in a residence on Statenweg in Emmen. The 21-year-old victim was found on the gallery. Assistance was immediately initiated, but it was to no avail. The victim died on the spot.

The police immediately launched an investigation and soon apprehended a suspect. He is a 28-year-old man from Emmen. The suspect has been arrested and transferred to the detention center in Assen. He is in custody and will be interrogated. The police are investigating the circumstances and background of the incident. The victim and the arrested suspect knew each other. Investigations will determine whether the suspect was involved in the victims death.
