In the early morning of Wednesday, October 15, we received a report that someone was being threatened with death who was said to live in an apartment building in Gaffelstraat. When officers arrived at the building, they found texts with threats. These seemed so serious that an investigation was immediately launched and evidence was secured. This evidence led to the arrest of a 17-year-old boy the same day. When the police conducted a search of the arrested boys home, they found an automatic firearm there.

Mobile Camera Unit
While the investigation was in full swing, measures were also taken, one of which was the placement of a mobile camera unit.  The camera showed that on the night of Wednesday to Thursday, October 16, someone was dropped off by a taxi near that same building.  The taxi drove away while the person who got out looked around and walked towards the building. Because the police were monitoring the camera, they were quickly on the scene and managed to arrest the man who had stepped out of the taxi. This was a 16-year-old boy, and he had an automatic firearm with him. When the same taxi that had dropped him off returned, the driver was also arrested. This was a 45-year-old man. He has since been released and is no longer a suspect.

Closure
Even after the third arrest, the investigation continued, and later that day, a 15-year-old boy was arrested, and at the beginning of the evening, a 17-year-old boy was arrested. Meanwhile, the mayor has also administratively closed the building. The investigation continues tirelessly, and both visible and invisible measures are being taken. Further arrests are also not excluded. If you see something suspicious or have more information, please contact us using the details below.
