Explosive Found in House in Voorhout After Report of Phone Theft

Following an investigation into a burglary at a residence on Wednesday, September 24, where a mobile phone was stolen, a report was made to the police. This phone was found in a house on Zwanebloemstraat in Voorhout. Two suspects were arrested in the house.

At the same time, officers found ammunition and a possible explosive in the house. The TEV (Explosives Reconnaissance Team) was called in and it was confirmed that it was indeed an explosive. The EOD (Explosive Ordnance Disposal) arrived on the scene and evacuated two surrounding houses as a precaution. The EOD dismantled the explosive and around 03:45, the area was cleared.

Suspects Detained

The police are investigating the discovered items. The two suspects are in custody for investigation and will be questioned later.
