The police received the report of the washed ashore packages on January 10 around 10:10 AM. Passersby found the packages along the coastline of West Terschelling. Officers went to the location and retrieved the packages from the water.
Warning: do not open unattended packages
The packages have been secured and removed. The exact contents are being investigated and will be destroyed afterwards. If you find an unattended package on the beach of one of the Wadden Islands, do not open it! Do not take any risks and call 112 immediately. Your report can help secure possible drug packages and combat crime. Possession of any hard drugs is punishable by law.

The police work closely with, among others, Customs to trace the origin of the packages, investigate the contents, and prevent further distribution of drugs.
