At around 4:25 PM, the emergency center receives a report of a collision with serious injuries. Officers arrive at the scene and find a severely injured victim and provide immediate first aid. The victim – a cyclist – has been involved in a collision with a moped. Police, bystanders, and firefighters begin resuscitation, after which ambulance personnel take over care. Unfortunately, all medical assistance was in vain, and the victim passed away at the scene on February 26.
Witnesses sought
The Traffic Investigation Team (OTV) and FO-traffic are investigating the circumstances of the accident. Witnesses sought for fatal collision on Oranjebaan

On Wednesday, February 26, 2025, around 4:25 PM, a serious collision occurred on the moped bike path of Oranjebaan in Amstelveen between a cyclist and a driver of a moped. The cyclist – a 12-year-old girl from Ouderkerk aan de Amstel – succumbed to her injuries at the scene. The police are conducting an extensive investigation and are calling on witnesses to come forward.
