After the police unions, the Minister of Justice and Security, and the Chief of Police reached a negotiation result, the unions began consulting their members. Six physical meetings were organized, along with eight digital meetings.

During the meetings, the unions explained the negotiation result and members were given the opportunity to ask questions. At the end of each meeting, members were asked whether they could agree with the proposed negotiation result, which a large majority did. Based on this agreement, the boards consented, and the collective labor agreement was signed.

Chief of Police Janny Knol: ‘We have been able to close this collective agreement thanks to the constructive cooperation with all parties involved. I am glad that this agreement has been reached in a timely manner. This provides peace and clarity for the employees, and we can move forward as a police organization. We remain an attractive and modern employer that operates from good employer practices. We pay attention to our employees; for their income, their sustainable employability, career perspective, inclusive working conditions, and their safety. This is important for our labor market position and the future of the corps.’
