Shortly after midnight on Friday, March 28, the police received a report of a disturbed situation in the center of Leiden. Upon arrival, it turned out that a person had fallen into the water at Galgewater. The victim was underwater for some time before the fire department could bring him to shore. Ambulance personnel resuscitated the 23-year-old man from Leiden. Unfortunately, he passed away on the way to the hospital.
