Call 112 if you see a burglary in progress
Residents often know best when something is wrong in their neighborhood. Do you see someone acting suspiciously near a house or notice suspicious activities, for example at a house where you know the residents are on vacation? Call 112. This may help prevent the burglary or allow the burglar to be caught in the act.
How to make it difficult for burglars
Burglars take advantage of opportunities. You can make it harder for them by:
- Approved locks and fittings on windows, (garage) doors, and any skylights.
- A special lock on burglary-prone sliding doors.
- Adequate outdoor lighting.
- Timer switches on all floors of your house. Let your indoor lighting turn on and off at different times.
