Surveillance colleagues were driving around 7:00 PM on Rondweg-Oost when they saw a vehicle displaying striking driving behavior. The two colleagues followed their gut feeling and trailed the vehicle at a distance. The driver continued to exhibit unusual driving patterns, prompting the colleagues to signal him to stop.
Moving Boxes Full of Drugs
The police asked if they could look inside the car. During the vehicle inspection, the colleagues noticed a significant number of moving boxes. In an open box, the police colleagues saw a large number of wrapped packages that they officially recognized as possible packages containing narcotics. The 39-year-old man from England was immediately arrested on suspicion of violating the Opium Act. This involved a large quantity of cocaine, which was seized for further investigation.
Traffic Controls
The police regularly conduct traffic checks, for instance, after unusual driving behavior is observed. Striking driving behavior can be an indication of driving under the influence, but also of criminal activities due to nervous driving. Through these kinds of checks, the police contribute to preventing traffic accidents and combating crime.
