Boy and girl (15) arrested after robbery of neighborhood store

On Sunday evening, February 16, a boy and a girl armed with a (fake) firearm robbed a neighborhood store on Nieuwenoord. A 15-year-old girl from Amsterdam was subdued with the help of staff and customers. The second 15-year-old suspect from Amsterdam fled but was arrested on Tuesday, February 18.
Shortly after 9:30 PM, the robbery was reported. The young duo threatened staff and customers with a (fake) firearm, demanding money but without success. The girl was overpowered by staff and customers and held until officers could arrest her. The second young suspect was arrested on Tuesday after investigation. They are in custody and being interrogated.
It is being investigated whether the teenagers were involved in other robberies.
