A 39-year-old man was found dead at the end of Monday afternoon, October 13, in a stolen car on Loerangelstraat in Boxmeer. The circumstances in which he was found suggested a possible crime.
Investigation
The investigation led us, among other places, to a location in Torhout, Belgium. In the week following the discovery of the deceased man, an operational drug lab was discovered there. Belgian officers arrested four men with Dutch nationality at the premises. Trace investigations were conducted in and around the lab, where traces of synthetic drugs were found.
The investigation team is examining the connections between the victim and the drug lab.
Arrest
The investigation provided indications of the possible involvement of the 43-year-old man and his 20-year-old daughter in moving and hiding the body. Therefore, they were arrested. They are held in custody and are being questioned. The wife and mother of the suspects is being questioned as a witness.
Uninterrupted continuation
Since the discovery of the man, the investigation team has worked almost non-stop on the case. This is partly thanks to dozens of tips following calls on the TV program Opsporing Verzocht, social media, and neighborhood research. These tips are being reviewed one by one and hopefully provide more information about the victims life and his last days.
Despite the arrests, the investigation into the circumstances continues unabated. Multiple arrests are not ruled out.
