The police are currently conducting further investigations into the fireworks. The entire batch has been seized and will be destroyed. No arrests have been made so far as a result of this discovery. However, earlier this month, three individuals were arrested in an FIOD investigation that also involved this property.
Reporting helps
Illegal trade and storage of prohibited fireworks can lead to life-threatening situations. The risk of fire and explosions is high and poses a serious danger to the immediate surroundings. The police therefore urge local residents to report suspicions of illegal fireworks possession. Do you have information? Or do you see something suspicious? Report it to the police via 0900-8844 or anonymously to Crime Stoppers via 0800-7000.
