Emergency services were alerted on New Years Eve around 11:00 PM for a fire in the sports hall. The fire brigade had to arrive with heavy equipment. Ultimately, it was a large fire.
After the fire, the police started an investigation into the cause. A neighborhood investigation was conducted, possible witnesses were interviewed, and available camera footage was reviewed. We also noted that footage is circulating on (social) media. This footage is part of our investigation.
Based on the investigation, two arrests were made on January 1. The suspects are in custody and are being questioned. The investigation into the arson continues. We do not rule out further arrests.
