The police received information about a suspicious situation on the Europaweg-Noord during the night from Sunday to Monday. Two men were acting suspiciously, drawing the attention of the investigative services.
After the arrests, it appeared that the duo had likely made a hole in the fence around the port area. They then went to a stack of containers, where several hatches were removed. The duo was subsequently arrested. It turned out to be a 21-year-old man from Spijkenisse and a 25-year-old man without a fixed residence.
The duo was taken to a police detention center for further investigation and questioning. The police and Customs suspect that the duo was looking for drugs, but had not yet found any. Due to this suspicion, they were brought before the examining magistrate on Thursday (16-10). They are still in custody for further investigation.
