Report from Online Sales Platform

Police of Central Netherlands initiated an investigation after the online sales platform reported possible fraud. The investigation identified two men from Baarn. The duo allegedly ordered various products over an extended period, mainly multimedia and electronics items. They then pretended to have returned the products. However, the products never reached the company. Meanwhile, the products were sold on other second-hand goods websites. Financial investigation by the police suggests the duo may have profited several hundred thousand euros from this.

Goods Seized

On Tuesday, December 2, the police arrested two men aged 23 and 24 from Baarn. Several properties in Baarn were searched. The police found cash, kilos of fireworks, narcotics, and a firearm in the two homes and a storage unit. Additionally, many goods possibly linked to the fraud were found.

Victim Seizure

All goods and various vehicles were seized for fact-finding and as victim seizure. Victim seizure aims to compensate the victim for the damage caused. Seizing criminal money or goods is an important part of the fight against crime. By confiscating criminally obtained assets, suspects are hit where it hurts—in their wallets. This ensures they gain no benefit from their actions and makes clear that crime does not pay.

Further arrests in this investigation are not excluded.
