The action primarily targeted distractions while driving. Spotters from a touring coach observed that drivers had a phone in their hands, after which officers in unmarked police cars signaled these drivers to stop. Furthermore, the so-called monocam was used to catch drivers from an overpass. In addition to these 165 fines, 29 other violations were also noted, including eleven speeding violations where one drivers license was confiscated for driving over 50 kilometers too fast. There were also fines for antisocial driving behavior and other violations. Read here to learn more about MONO
Anecdotes

Another driver explained that he had his phone in hand because he was reading a message warning about a police action against driving with a phone in hand. That warning was indeed correct.
