Police Reaction to Reports of Possible Parliamentary Majority for Fireworks Ban

Gebied: Nederland

The police are pleased with the reports that a majority is looming for a total fireworks ban. Chief of Police Janny Knol: This is good news for many police officers and other emergency responders who every New Years Eve are the target of violence with fireworks. We realize that the introduction of a ban will also require us to take extra steps in terms of enforcement. Additionally, it will help us throughout the year in tackling heavy explosives, the severe consequences of which we see almost daily.
