International Investigation Leads to Arrest of Suspect and Identification of Victim

There are new developments in the investigation into the discovered body in Scherpenseel (Germany). Thanks to close cooperation between police and justice in the Netherlands and Germany, the deceased has now been identified. It concerns a 46-year-old man without a fixed residence.

Where the police in Limburg conducted an investigation into a missing person case, the German police discovered a body in a burned-out vehicle on Tuesday, July 29. Since there were suspicions of a connection between both cases, a collaboration between the Dutch and German police and justice was established. Read earlier reports here.

Missing

The man found in the vehicle turned out to be a 46-year-old man who had been reported missing in the Netherlands. Through intensive cooperation between the Dutch and German sides of the border, a suspect was arrested on Wednesday, July 30. This person is suspected of involvement in the death of the victim.

The investigation into the circumstances surrounding the victims death continues in cooperation with the German police.
