Police makes new arrest for possible involvement in shooting incident in Hamburg (Germany)

On Tuesday, January 27, 2026, the Dutch police arrested a 25-year-old man from Amsterdam for possible involvement in a shooting incident in Hamburg, Germany, on Sunday, January 12, 2025, where a 49-year-old man was shot in a café. The suspect is believed to have been the driver of the vehicle that transported the minor shooter to Germany. This is under further investigation.
Last week, a 26-year-old man from Amsterdam was arrested. He may have lent his car to the other suspects. This man has since been released but remains part of the ongoing investigation.
The shooter, a 15-year-old boy from Hoorn, was previously convicted by the German court. The Dutch police are investigating possible Dutch involvement, with suspicion that they persuaded and/or facilitated the convicted boy in committing the shooting incident.
The police continue the investigation and do not rule out further arrests.
