The police caught up with the man at the end of 2023. Subsequent investigations revealed that multiple women had fallen victim to fraud through various dating apps. The suspect allegedly sold products to the victims, for which they transferred money multiple times, without ever receiving a product. This amounts to a total of around 150,000 euros.

The suspect is believed to have made victims across the country, including in Amsterdam, during the period from 2022 to 2025. The case is currently under investigation, and the suspect remains in custody.
