Witnesses saw the man run out of a store, then jump into the water and start swimming to the other side. Halfway through, he disappeared underwater and did not come back up.
After a search operation lasting almost four hours, the fire department retrieved the deceased from the water.
In addition to the fire department and police, an ambulance and trauma helicopter were also called in initially.

The identity of the deceased man is still under investigation. The reason why the man ran out of the store and jumped into the water is not known.
