The police tracked down the man from Helmond because he had a car registered in his name that belonged to a suspect previously linked to a large-scale drug and money laundering investigation. This raised suspicion with the financial investigation unit of the Zeeland-West-Brabant team, after which a new money laundering investigation was initiated.
The man allegedly registered high-end vehicles, primarily from Germany, in his name to shield others and enable criminals to continue their illegal activities undisturbed. The vehicles represent a total value of millions of euros. The suspect has cars registered in his name from brands such as Ferrari, Lamborghini, Aston Martin, and exclusive models from Mercedes and Audi.
The police take the suspicions very seriously and are investigating for whom the suspect may have acted as a facilitator.
Seizure of more than four million euros
The suspects business and residence were searched, and the man was arrested. During the arrest and the searches, there was close cooperation with detectives from Helmond and police officers from Peelland. The police have seized the suspects assets, including several exclusive vehicles. In the money laundering investigation, a total of more than four million euros worth of valuable items have been seized.
