A boy who was sitting at the back was also hit. The suspects fled with the fat bike. The police immediately started an investigation. Later, a boy was arrested at Beatrixplein who was in possession of the stolen bike. The police issued a call for witnesses on the local police Facebook channel.
The further investigation led to the arrest of two more minor suspects on Sunday morning. All three suspects are still in custody at the police station. A balaclava was seized from one of them.
A report has been filed and the bike has since been returned to the owner.
In Leeghwaterpark, several similar robberies have occurred recently. The police and municipal enforcement officers are therefore keeping extra watch in that area, which contributed to these arrests being made.
