At around 00:30, the woman was walking along the water of the Weesperzijde when an unknown man approached her and then dragged her off the path. The woman was beaten several times and became a victim of serious sexual violence. The suspect fled the scene in the direction of the city center.
The police are conducting extensive investigations with a Large Scale Investigation Team to track down the suspect and are therefore urgently looking for witnesses. People who saw something in the vicinity of Weesperzijde between 00:30 and 01:30 are urgently requested to contact the detectives. The following description of the man is known:
- Dark skin color;
- Around 20 years old;
- Approximately 1.70 meters tall;
- Wearing a white sweater with noticeably wide sleeves, with a black sleeveless shirt underneath
