The arrests were preceded by an extensive investigation. Officers noticed the suspects acting suspiciously in October last year. In recent months, investigations were conducted at the home of the 26-year-old suspect. The suspects were also followed for some time in their activities, phone calls were tapped, and witnesses were heard. This led to the suspicion that the suspects had been actively dealing in hard drugs for a longer period. They were said to be obtaining drugs from Rotterdam and selling them through an extensive network around Emmeloord.
Arrests
In early April, the Public Prosecution Service decided to arrest both individuals. On April 11, the 26-year-old woman was arrested at her home in Emmeloord. Among other things, a stock of hard drugs and cash were found in the house. This, along with communication equipment, bank cards, and drivers licenses, was seized. The 24-year-old suspect was arrested on the same day after a short chase near Tollebeek. Two cars belonging to the suspects were also seized. Based on the seized items, the police are conducting further investigations to disrupt the drug network in Noordoostpolder. Further arrests are therefore not excluded.
