Suspect arrested for robbery at supermarket in Beverwijk

On Monday evening, December 8, a robbery took place at a supermarket on Westerlaan in Beverwijk. On Friday, December 12, the police arrested a 51-year-old suspect from Beverwijk. His involvement in the robbery is under further investigation. He will be presented to the examining magistrate on Monday.
The robbery took place around 8:35 PM. The suspect threatened an employee with two knives and tried to get money from the cash register. When this failed, the suspect left the store and fled. Immediately after the robbery, a neighborhood investigation was started. Fortunately, no one was injured during the robbery, but the supermarket employees and bystanders were understandably very shocked.
