The individuals were convicted of various offenses, such as violating the Opium Act and fraud, extortion, deception, human trafficking, and money laundering. Initially, they could not be tracked down. The EVA Team was then asked to locate and arrest them.
Arrest in Foreign Country
One of the convicts, a 39-year-old man, was sentenced by the court in The Hague to 1021 days in prison for Opium Act offenses. After investigation by the EVA team, it was found that the man was residing in Colombia, where he could subsequently be arrested by Colombian authorities.
Arrest at Car Dealer
A 23-year-old man was wanted in connection with a robbery with violence in association. He has to serve 120 days in prison for this. He was registered at an address, but after extensive investigation, it turned out he was not residing there and the EVA team was able to arrest him in the showroom of a car dealer.
The EVA Team
The EVA Team actively engages in the investigation and arrest of convicts who try to evade their imposed sentences for the Police Unit The Hague. Convictions for robberies, burglaries, and street robberies are prioritized in the search for wanted individuals by the EVA Team, but also in cases of compensation measures or imposed fines, a convict can expect a visit from the EVA Team.
