On Thursday evening, January 1 around 11:45 PM, the police received a report of a shooting incident at Piet Wiedijkpark. Officers immediately responded and found two victims. The victims had gunshot wounds. The officers provided first aid and started resuscitation on both victims. Personnel from the Mobile Medical Team and ambulance then took over care. Unfortunately, all efforts were in vain and both victims died at the scene.
The suspect(s) fled after the shooting incident.
The Major Crime Team and Forensic Investigation have started an investigation into the shooting incident.
