Unconditional dismissal for employees of the National Expertise and Operations Unit (LX)

Three employees from different domains of our unit have been unconditionally dismissed following three separate cases. This decision follows three internal investigations conducted by the Safety, Integrity and Complaints department (VIK). This summary provides further explanation.

In mid-2024, the police received complaints or reports about each of the three employees. Internal investigations were immediately initiated. It was found that one employee misused police systems for private matters, violating official secrecy and committing computer trespass. Another employee sent sexually explicit photos to minors, and in the third case, an employee used drugs in their private life. All three behaviors are not in line with the polices values and standards. Integrity and reliability are two core values highly valued by the police. All employees are expected to act accordingly, even during private time.

Criminal investigation

In the case involving violation of official secrecy and computer trespass, a criminal investigation was conducted by the Public Prosecution Service. This resulted in a conviction in the form of a community service sentence.
