In cooperation with, among others, the municipality of Amsterdam, the Concertgebouw, and various organizations, we ensured that both the concert at the Concertgebouw and the (announced) demonstrations proceeded orderly, except for a few incidents.
Arrested suspects
There were several hundred demonstrators present. The police made 22 arrests, mainly for violations of the Public Manifestations Act (WOM), the General Local Regulation (APV), possession of fireworks, the Identification Act, and for resisting authority. The suspects are being questioned, after which the prosecution will decide on further actions.
The police intervened several times to keep the demonstrators at a distance and maintain public order. The riot police used batons. Demonstrators set off multiple smoke bombs. One police officer was slightly injured during the operation.
The police continue to commit themselves to safety and public order in Amsterdam.
