Shortly after, the man attempted to steal a car from a woman who was inside her vehicle at the time. He was unsuccessful. He then took an ANWB vehicle and drove towards Dongen.

Chase

The police spotted the stolen vehicle and initiated a pursuit. The man drove at high speed and exhibited dangerous driving behavior, including driving on bike paths. To ensure safety, officers decided to end the visible chase and continue following the vehicle with an unmarked police car. The vehicle entered the highway via Oosterhout heading towards Breda.

When the man exited the highway at Breda-Noord and stopped at a traffic light near Nieuwe Kadijk, officers tried to apprehend him. The man did not cooperate and collided with a police vehicle, then managed to escape again. Due to the renewed dangerous driving, the pursuit was called off shortly after. Soon after, officers were back on his trail.

The man then attempted to steal a vehicle again near the NAC Stadium. A struggle ensued with the car owner. Officers arriving on the scene witnessed this and assisted the victim. The suspect took advantage of the situation by taking a police vehicle and driving towards Etten-Leur.

Arrest Successful

At Vosdonk, the man tried once more to steal a vehicle, resulting in another struggle with the driver. This time, the police were able to arrest the suspect, a 34-year-old man from Breda. He was taken to the police station and is in custody for further investigation.
