On the late evening of Monday, December 8, the police received signals about a possible confrontation between the two supporter groups. During a police check of PSV supporters, three individuals were arrested for possession of a balaclava and violating a restraining order. Ultimately, this did not lead to a confrontation.
Match Day
On the match day itself, the atmosphere shifted at one point among a group of Atletico supporters. One person was arrested for insult. Later in the evening, disturbances occurred here and there. We arrested six more individuals for lighting flares, insult, throwing glass at a bus, not showing valid ID, and assault.
Of all the arrested supporters, two remain in custody for assault. These are two men aged 33 and 36 from Eindhoven. They are suspected of assaulting a Spanish football supporter shortly after midnight. The supporter was injured and had to be treated in hospital.
