On Sunday morning around 04:30, the police received a report that enforcement officers from the municipality of Breda had found an injured man in front of a parking garage on Nieuweweg. The man needed medical assistance and was taken to a hospital by ambulance.

Footage from cameras revealed that shortly before, there had been a scuffle between two men. One man (the later suspect) had allegedly kicked the other man in the head after he had fallen. Police officers immediately launched an investigation and were able to arrest the suspect shortly thereafter in Vismarktstraat. He has been placed in custody for investigation and questioning. The police are investigating exactly what happened.
