Witness Investigation
On the night of Friday, March 28 to Saturday, March 29, a witness investigation took place at Hogendijk in Zaandam. Bystanders were approached by investigators to see if they had seen or heard anything at the house on Hogendijk during the night of Friday, January 17 to Saturday, January 18. With the witness investigation, the police hopes to gather more information about the victims death and who is responsible.
SMS Call
In consultation with the Public Prosecution Service, an SMS message will be sent on Saturday afternoon, March 29, to all mobile numbers that were in the vicinity of Hogendijk on the night of Friday, January 17 to Saturday, January 18. The SMS message will ask if anyone has information that could be important to the investigation.
If you receive an SMS, you may wonder how the police got your number. The police can request tower data to determine which phones were in the area at a certain time. However, it may also be that you were not near Hogendijk, but just passing by at that time. Your phone may have been registered on the tower, which is why you received an SMS.
