Ingrid meant a lot to the police. From April 2018 to September 2023, she was the police chief of the Limburg unit. During that time, she initiated many changes as a strong connector and innovative source of inspiration. The police had to say goodbye to her much earlier than hoped. Even after stepping down from her position at the end of 2023, she remained in contact with many colleagues and followed what was happening in the unit from the sidelines.
Jan van Loosbroek, police chief of the Limburg unit: She will remain in our memory as a very skilled policewoman, an inspiring and open-hearted leader, a passionate person, and a friendly colleague.
The news of Ingrids passing hit hard at the corps leadership as well.
Chief of Police Janny Knol: Ingrid was a remarkable police chief: strong and vulnerable, connecting and involved. Someone who fought with full conviction and who meant so much to the Limburg unit as a police chief. When it remains silent on difficult topics or uncomfortable issues, Ingrid steps forward, names it, it was said at her farewell that came much too early. She did the same regarding her illness, both within and outside the police. She gave us the words hold on, hold fast. And exactly that is what we will continue to do, in her spirit.
We wish her husband Rich, her children, family, friends, and colleagues a lot of strength and support.
