The road in Oranjeboomstraat was closed due to the sports event. Signs indicating the road closure were placed around the closed area. When a motorist attempted to enter the street, access was denied by the traffic controllers present. Nevertheless, the driver proceeded. In doing so, he struck both traffic controllers, who sustained injuries. An ambulance arrived on the scene and took one of the traffic controllers to the hospital.

Arrest
The driver fled the scene after the incident but was later arrested by the police. He is a 27-year-old man from Zundert. The police are conducting further investigations into the incident.
