During these inspections, which took place in the week of October 13, officers arrested seven individuals attempting to buy hard drugs. Two people were also arrested on suspicion of drug trafficking with quantities of cocaine in their possession. Furthermore, one person was arrested for driving under the influence of soft drugs. Seventeen people using alcohol or soft drugs on the street received fines. One person turned out to have a knife in their possession; this was confiscated by the police.
In total, 126 vehicles were checked during this action week. A total of 54 fines were issued for various violations, and a possibly stolen scooter was confiscated.
With this action week, the police, in cooperation with partners such as the Netherlands Food and Consumer Product Safety Authority and the Netherlands Labour Authority and the municipal enforcement team, sent a signal to residents and entrepreneurs in the center that action is being taken against undermining crime.
