On the night of December 25 to 26, an alert neighbor reported a possible burglary at the neighbors house. Officers caught two suspects in the act during an attempted burglary at a home on Wijngaard in Lelystad. Stolen goods were also found in the vehicle of one of the burglars.
The reported burglaries from December are still under investigation, with these suspects possibly involved. The suspects are awaiting trial.
Call in suspicious situations
In December last year, the Lelystad police asked residents to be alert due to a rise in burglaries. We are therefore very grateful that an alert neighbor called 112 to report the suspicious situation. Without this information, we would not have been able to arrest these suspects. After the arrests, we see that the number of burglary reports in Lelystad is decreasing again.
