Just before 6 PM, officers were driving along J. de Koostraat in Osdorp-Oost when they accidentally spotted three men standing in a parking lot. As soon as the men saw the officers, they took off running. The officers decided to stop them.
In addition to the large amounts of money and illegal cigarette finds, the officers also discovered a key to a rented truck. They searched and eventually found the truck in a parking lot in Eindhoven. Hundreds of packs of illegal cigarettes were also found in this vehicle.
The men were arrested on suspicion of money laundering. The police are conducting an extensive investigation, and the cigarettes have since been destroyed by Customs.
