At around 7:00 PM, two police officers arrested a person when one of them was suddenly attacked by a man who interfered with the situation. A bystander warned the officer, but unfortunately in vain. The man struck the officer violently with an object, injuring the officer.
The man was asked to drop the object he used to attack the officer. He did not comply, after which the officers used the stun gun. The man fell back and the officers arrested him. The object has been seized and the 35-year-old man from Rotterdam has been taken to the station.
Violence Against Police is Unacceptable
The injured officer has filed a report. Incidents where police personnel are treated aggressively or violently are given high priority. Police officers have a responsible role in society and must be able to do their work without being hindered. Physical violence is, of course, not accepted, just like threats, assault, or insults. Suspects are therefore arrested immediately.
