After the arrest, the suspects residence was searched. Data carriers were also seized for further investigation. The suspect is under full restrictions, meaning he can only have contact with his lawyer. Therefore, few details about the investigation are being disclosed. Last Saturday, shortly after the deadly shooting incident, an 18-year-old suspect was arrested. He is being released today, July 22, but remains a suspect in the investigation.

Assault and/or Attempted Kidnapping
The police also arrested two (other) men, aged 31 from Emmen and 33 from Coevorden, last Saturday. They are also under full restrictions since today. They are accused of assault and/or attempted kidnapping in relation to the previously arrested 18-year-old suspect. The assault and/or attempted kidnapping occurred shortly before the deadly shooting incident at the same location. These two suspects will be presented to the examining magistrate on Wednesday.

It is being investigated whether the assault and/or attempted kidnapping is related to the deadly shooting incident. The police investigation continues.
